ESAN University is a non-profit private university in Lima, Peru, and a leading institution in business education. It was founded in 1963 as ESAN — Escuela de Administración de Negocios para Graduados — the first graduate business school in the Spanish-speaking world and in Peru. On 25 July 1963 the Peruvian and American governments founded the school, entrusting its organisation to the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and the first cohort of its full-time MBA — the first in the Spanish-speaking world — began classes on 1 April 1964. Between 2003 and 2007 it established ESAN University and launched its first undergraduate programmes in business, economics and engineering.
