About Insper

Insper, a non-profit institution in São Paulo's Vila Olímpia district, originated from IBMEC, the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets, which opened its São Paulo operations in 1987 at the corner of Avenida Paulista. Initially offering only an MBA in Finance, in 1999 it launched full-time, analytically driven undergraduate programmes in business administration and economics, and in 2003 the former partners of Banco Garantia — Claudio Haddad, Jorge Paulo Lemann, Marcel Telles and Carlos Alberto Sicupira — became its controlling shareholders. Today it teaches business, economics, engineering, law and computer science.
