About Universidad de los Andes
The Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá was founded in 1948 by a group of Colombian intellectuals led by Mario Laserna Pinzón, as the first Colombian university established as nonsectarian — independent of any political party or religious institution, a radical idea at the time.
