About Universidad de San Andrés

The University of San Andrés is a private Argentine university founded in 1989, but its story starts much earlier: it is the daughter institution of St. Andrew's Scots School, founded by Scottish immigrants in 1838, and its crest still carries the Saltire and the thistles of Scotland. Following a liberal arts model rare in the region, it teaches from its main campus in Victoria, on the Río de la Plata in Greater Buenos Aires — a deliberately small university, with about 1,033 undergraduates and 897 graduate students by 2015, and home to the Max von Buch Library.
