SGH Warsaw School of Economics is Poland's oldest business school, founded in 1906 as August Zieliński's private trade courses for men. It gained higher-education status in 1919, took the name Szkoła Główna Handlowa in 1933, and under communism was nationalised as the Main School of Planning and Statistics — recovering its pre-war name in 1991 after the fall of the regime. From its Mokotów campus in Warsaw, SGH teaches bachelor's, master's, doctoral and postgraduate programmes, cooperates with some 200 institutions worldwide, and belongs to the CEMS alliance and the Partnership in International Management network.
