The Wrocław University of Economics and Business was established in 1947 as a private business school, the Wyższa Szkoła Handlowa, and nationalised in 1954 as a College of Economics. From October 1974 it bore the name of the economist Oskar Lange, dropped when the institution became the Wrocław University of Economics in 2008. Its main campus sits on Ulica Komandorska near the centre of Wrocław, with a separate campus in Jelenia Góra for its school of economics, management and tourism, and its faculties span economic sciences, engineering, management, computer science and finance.
