The Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta in Edmonton was founded in 1916 as a School of Accountancy, awarded its first Bachelor of Commerce degrees in 1924, and became a full faculty after the curriculum reforms of 1960. In 1968 it became the first business school in Canada to receive AACSB accreditation — a status it has held ever since, making it the longest-accredited business school in the country. It took its current name in 2010.
