ESCP Business School, established in Paris on 1 December 1819 by two former Napoleonic soldiers, Germain Legret and Amédée Brodart, is considered the world's oldest business school. Taken over by the Paris Chamber of Commerce in 1869 and selective since 1892, it settled on Avenue de la République in 1898. In 1973 it invented the multi-campus business school, opening in London in 1974 and Germany in 1975 — a design that matured into today's six campuses in Paris, Berlin, London, Madrid, Turin and Warsaw. One of the 'Parisiennes' with HEC and ESSEC, it teaches BSc, master's in finance and management, MBA, Executive MBA and PhD programmes.
