IESE Business School, the graduate business school of the University of Navarra, was established in Barcelona in 1958 by Opus Dei, with Antonio Valero as main promoter and first dean. Its defining alliance came in 1963, when the Harvard-IESE Committee was formed: the two-year MBA launched in 1964 was the first programme in Europe to use the 'master's' name. The bilingual Spanish-English MBA followed in 1980. IESE opened its Madrid campus in 1991 — doubled in 2021 — inaugurated the renewed Barcelona campus in 2007, and consolidated campuses in New York (2010), Munich (2015) and São Paulo. It counts more than 60,000 alumni worldwide.
