London Business School was established in 1964 as the London Graduate School of Business Studies, born of the Robbins and Franks reports that called for two major postgraduate business schools in Britain — one in London, one in Manchester. A member institution of the University of London, it launched its flagship programme in 1966 (called an MSc until 1985) and added the part-time version in 1983. Its main campus at Sussex Place, beside Regent's Park, kept John Nash's neoclassical facade and was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1970; a satellite campus operates in Dubai. LBS is postgraduate-only, awarding master's degrees in management and finance, MBAs and PhDs.
