About Universidad de Navarra

The University of Navarra was founded on 17 October 1952 by Saint Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei, as the Estudio General de Navarra — a School of Law with 48 students and eight professors on the edge of Pamplona. It has grown into one of Spain's leading private universities, particularly respected in business, economics, medicine and healthcare, teaching across 14 faculties and six campuses from Pamplona and San Sebastián to Madrid, Barcelona, Munich and New York; its graduate business school is IESE. The university also runs a teaching hospital treating more than 100,000 patients a year and the CIMA biomedical research centre.
