About University of Bath
The University of Bath received its royal charter in 1966 as Bath University of Technology, one of the institutions created after the Robbins Report — though its roots reach back to the Bristol Trade School of 1856, shared with the University of Bristol via the Merchant Venturers' Technical College. Its purpose-built modernist campus on Claverton Down overlooks the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath.
