About University of Kent

The University of Kent was founded by royal charter in 1965, with Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, as its first Chancellor. Its principal campus spreads over 300 acres on the hill overlooking Canterbury Cathedral, a World Heritage Site, complemented by a campus in Medway and a postgraduate centre in Paris. Proudly international — students of 158 nationalities, 41% of academic staff from outside the UK — it counts two Nobel laureates in literature among its alumni: Sir Kazuo Ishiguro and Abdulrazak Gurnah.
