Excelia is a French grande école, created in 1988 as Groupe Sup de Co La Rochelle, a private non-profit organisation linked to the La Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles. Its business school belongs to the roughly 100 business schools worldwide — about 1% of all business schools — holding a triple accreditation. In September 2016 Excelia acquired a majority share of the ESCEM Business School in Tours and Orléans, which was fully integrated into the group. Excelia now has 5,000 students and nearly 40,000 alumni, and is organised into a Business School, a Hotel & Tourism School and a Communication School.
