About Tilburg University

Tilburg University was founded in 1927 as the Roomsch Katholieke Handelshoogeschool — the Roman Catholic University of Commerce — in the southern, Catholic part of the Netherlands, and though the word Catholic has been dropped from its name, it is still regarded as a Catholic university. It has stayed true to its founding focus, specialising in the social and behavioural sciences, economics, law, business, theology and the humanities, with about 19,150 students in 67 bachelor's and master's programmes and roughly 1,000 PhD candidates.
