About Universität Mannheim (MBS)
The University of Mannheim is a public research university whose roots reach back to the Palatine Academy of Sciences, founded by Elector Carl Theodor at Mannheim Palace in 1763, and to the Commercial College of 1907; it took its present form in 1967. Its main campus occupies Mannheim Palace itself, one of Europe's largest Baroque palaces, and the university is regarded among Germany's most prestigious, above all in economics, business, social sciences and law.
