Chicago Booth is the graduate business school of the University of Chicago and, founded in 1898, the second-oldest business school in the United States. It pioneered relentlessly: the first business PhD programme (1920), the first Executive MBA (1943) and the first weekend MBA (1986), phasing out undergraduates in 1942 to go all-graduate. Deeply entwined with the Chicago school of economics, Booth is associated with ten Nobel laureates in the economic sciences — more than any other business school — and is the only US school with permanent campuses on three continents, adding Europe in 1994 and Asia in 2000. It took its name in 2008 after alumnus David G. Booth's gift valued at $300 million.
