Simon Business School is the business school of the University of Rochester, on the River Campus in Rochester, New York. The university's business programme began in 1958 and awarded its first MBA in 1962, but the school's character was forged when president W. Allen Wallis set out to build a first-class business school and dean William H. Meckling — who led it for nineteen years — committed it to an economics-based approach that shaped research in finance, accounting and organisational theory worldwide. In 1986 it was renamed after William E. Simon, the 63rd United States Secretary of the Treasury. It offers full-time, part-time and executive MBAs, plus MS and PhD programmes.
