For students whose family income and assets (ISEE) are below the thresholds set by the university's region, foreign passports included. A cash grant (national minimums for 2026/27: €2,890 living at home, €4,190 commuting, €7,171 living away), a full or partial fee waiver and often housing and meals. You apply to the regional right-to-study agency or to the university.
Official call ↗A 9-month grant from the Italian Foreign Ministry for English-taught master's in Engineering, Architecture and Design, and Economics and Management, with a company internship, at participating universities. Only for citizens of 23 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Mexico and Türkiye. The next call opens in 2027.

The University of Milan — 'La Statale' — is a public research university founded in 1924 from the merger of two institutions with deep scientific and humanistic roots: the Accademia Scientifico-Letteraria, active since 1861, and the Istituti Clinici di Perfezionamento of 1906. By 1928 it already had Italy's fourth-largest enrolment. One of Europe's largest universities, it teaches across ten schools, straddling the Città Studi university district and the historic centre, where the Renaissance Ca' Granda — the former Ospedale Maggiore commissioned in 1456 and assigned to the university after the war — houses the rectorate and the Schools of Law and Humanities. It is the only Italian member of the League of European Research Universities.
