The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, was formed in 1969 as the Graduate School of Business Administration and enrolled its first class of 20 students in 1970. Under dean Thomas F. Keller, a Duke graduate, a capital campaign raised $24 million in three years — $10 million of it from the businessman and philanthropist J. B. Fuqua, whose name the school took. Today it enrols more than 1,800 degree-seeking students, alongside Duke's executive education programmes.
