About Kentucky Gatton (MSF)

The University of Kentucky is a public land-grant research university in Lexington, Kentucky, founded in 1865 by John Bryan Bowman as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky and receiving federal support through the Morrill Land-Grant Act. It opened in 1866 with 190 students and 10 professors, and is today the institution with the highest enrollment in the state, with 35,952 students in the fall of 2024. The university comprises 16 colleges and is classified as an R1 doctoral university of very high research activity; two of its alumni have won Nobel Prizes. Its business teaching is delivered through the Gatton College of Business and Economics.
