About Minnesota Carlson

The Curtis L. Carlson School of Management is the business school of the University of Minnesota, in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. It was established in 1919, originally as the University of Minnesota Business School, with the banking expert George Dowrie as its first dean, and in 1920 the University of Minnesota became the 18th school to be accredited by the AACSB. In 1986 the school took its current name following a $25 million gift from Curtis L. Carlson, founder and chairman of the Carlson Companies, who later committed further funds toward a new facility that opened in 1998. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as executive education.
