The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine originated in 1965 as the Graduate School of Administration, became the Graduate School of Management with its MBA in 1981, and earned AACSB accreditation in 1987. It took its current name in 2005, when the entrepreneur and Orange County philanthropist Paul Merage donated $30 million. One of UCI's 14 academic units, it teaches an undergraduate business degree and a wide graduate portfolio — MBA in every format, plus master's programmes in finance, accountancy, business analytics and even biotechnology management.
