About Politecnico di Torino

Politecnico di Torino is Italy's oldest technical university, founded in 1859 as the Scuola di Applicazione per gli Ingegneri and reorganised under its present name in 1906, when it absorbed the Regio Museo Industriale Italiano. It teaches engineering, architecture, design and planning to roughly 39,000 students, about a fifth of them international, across a main campus in the Cittadella Politecnica and the seventeenth-century Castello del Valentino, a UNESCO World Heritage site that houses the architecture departments. Its engineering research is closely tied to Turin's automotive and aerospace industry, and it runs joint programmes with the Universita degli Studi di Torino, including the master's degree in Data Science and Engineering.
